He has to report it to at least five or ten of his associates. The thrill will be kept in its vigor for three days. After that the excitement will be extinguished like a dying flame. Only the thin beam of ascending smoke will be the living reminiscence. The story will be narrated like ‘once upon a time I met an eminent person on the seashore of ‘Nellankarai’.

எழுத்தாளர் கட்டியங்காரன் தற்போதைய நவீன தமிழ் இலக்கியத்தில் தவிர்க்கமுடியாத ஆளுமை என உருவாகிவருகிறார். எங்கள் men Friday வாசிப்பு குழுமம் இவரை ஒரு மாபெரும் படைப்பாளியாக உருவாக்கும் பொருட்டு இலக்கிய தீனி போட்டு வளர்த்து வருகிறது. இவர் கதை எழுதுவதைப் பார்த்தால் பித்தனுக்கும், சு ரா வுக்கும் சற்றும் சளைத்தவர் அல்ல என்பது தெரிகிறது. கூட்டங்கள் என வெளியில் உலாவக்கூடாது என்று கண்டிப்பாக சொல்லியிறுக்கிறோம். எந்த இலக்கிய நிகழ்ச்சிக்கும் அவர் போக(வே)க் கூடாது என்பது குழுமத்தின் கட்டுப்பாடு. காலம் கெட்ட கெடப்பில் அரசியல் சார்பு மூளையில் ஒட்டிக்கொள்ளும். அதுவும் கோட்பாடற்ற அரசியல். மானுடதைப் பற்றி 'எழுதுய்யா' என்றால் தத்துவம், கருத்தியல், கோட்பாடு என எதையாவது உளறிக் கொண்டிருப்பார்.
